Washington State Licensure
Questions regarding licensure should be directed to the Occupational Therapy Practice Board and/or the Department of Health at the contacts below, which are provided for your convenience.
Licensure in occupational therapy is granted by the State of Washington, through the Occupational Therapy Practice Board (OTPB), and professional licenses are issued and managed by the Department of Health. These processes are completely independent of WOTA, which is the professional association representing the interests of OT practitioners in the state.
Friendly Reminder...Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Assistants are required to have 30 hours of Continuing Education every two years for state licensing and 36 hours of Professional Development Units every three years for NBCOT renewal.
